Iran’s development of a nuclear weapon would pose a serious threat to Israel, as well as countries in the Middle East and Europe that would be within the reach of such a missile.  The Congress has passed legislation prohibiting companies from doing business with the federal government if they have contracts exceeding $1 million with the energy, finance, or construction sectors of the Iranian economy.

That law authorizes state governments to take similar action.  I worked with the Baltimore Jewish Council and United Against Nuclear Iran in asking Governor O’Malley to introduce House Bill 440.
